I talked to SO finally...

I talked to him about what's had me so emotional lately. He apparently was afraid I was about to break up with him. I told him I didn't want to be his girlfriend anymore, because I'd rather be his wife and he nearly started crying. Apparently, he was afraid to ask me because he was afraid I'd say no. There's also the matter of him "losing his independence." He KNOWS this isn't the case, it's just a hang up of his that he's got to get over (his own words, not mine).


He did tell me though that he does want to be with me. And he does want at least one more child, and he'd like it to be with me.   At least we've taken a step in the right direction.

Now I guess I've just gotta wait for him to get over these doubts that he has, if he ever does.

Awesome! Marriage is great but in the end it's just a legality. The fact that he sees his future with you is much more important. And if you guys continue to communicate effectively like this, that's a great sign that it will work out.

How long have y'all been together? And yay to marriage! (:

I'm glad you talked to him. I know it has been bothering you. My SO gave me a wedding set of his mothers for christmas. But he didn't technically ask me to marry him. Just found the ring in a box of chocolates. I feel like he chickened out or something,idk. It wasn't right. It upset me. Needless to say,he'ls have to try again when he is sure.

We usually are great at communication. I was just afraid of bringing any of this up to him because I didn't want to scare him away. I even told him exactly that, and he laughed, because he knows himself. His exact words were, "yeah, that has been my MO." In the past he's been afraid of commitment. This is the longest relationship he's ever been in.

That's great! Congrats, I'm sure y'all will be very happy together. It's funny how you just know when it's right. My hubby and I are gonna hit our 5th wedding anniversary this year and I couldn't be happier! (:

Congrats! It's amazing when you actually find the person you're going to spend the rest of your life with.

I never really had that feeling with my ex husband, I think we got married mostly for convenience. Yes, we loved each other, and I still do love him dearly, always will. But we rushed into getting married, and our marriage just wasn't... right, I guess.

Kind of. He just says I knew what it meant and blah blah. He isn't the romantic type at ALL and I was atleast hoping he would purpose romanticly but he just assumed I knew he wanted to marry me and didn't even ask. I told him he will have to do it again because I felt like it didn't mean anything,kwim? He didn't even say will you marry me.

Aww yayy congrats!! We have been together just over 35to years and been engaged over one. Now that things are getting better for us were planning on finally tying the knot in april.
