Flu or bad cold?

My DS is 4 and is feeling TERRIBLE. His symptoms are

Weezing
Congestion
He said his head hurt
Fatigue
Runny nose
Coughing



What does this sound like in your opinion  

Hard to tell really. If his body starts aching then it probably is the flu.

IMHO you won't know if it is the flu or not unless you get tested. That is your best bet. I would be it is more RSV though.

No fever or aches? It's really hard to tell without a flu swab. The flu and colds sometimes mimic each other.

He hasnt complained about being achy and no fever. On the news they said that if we suspect its the flu to just stay home. But recently he was diagnosed with asthma and I really dont know what I should do right now. He was whining earlier and he's taking deep hard breaths even after I gave him.a breathing treatment

You should probably take him in. Asthma and respiratory illnesses shouldn't be taken lightly, especially if he's taking hard breaths after a breathing treatment.

Honestly to me it sounds like RSV. It is also a bad year for RSV. how old is he?

Agreed with this! If it wasn't for my mom being a respiratory therapist we would go in more often.

I would go ahead and call the doc and ask them what their opinion on it would be. They might just want to script him out some steroids to help open him up or they may want you to come in to get swabbed.
