When to have a baby shower?

I'm due May 19th and I have no idea when people typically have a baby shower? 7 months? 8 months?

I did mine at 8 months each time ... ppl do them at almost ALL stages of the second and third tri though

My sisters through me a surprise baby shower when I was 34weeks  

My best friend is having hers this weekend and she'll be 36 weeks. I'd do it earlier than that though. Lol. Like 32-34.

So if I did it in March it wouldnt be too much? Because right now we're tossing around the end of April, but that leaves me with like 2-3 weeks before baby could make her appearance. I would rather have everything settled, clothes washed, dresser, crib, swings, rugs, decor everything DONE when she gets here.

8 months from my experience.

But I'd go for 7 cause by 8 your so dang dragged out you can't wait for it to be over.

I will be having mine at 34 weeks.i have never made it to my due date with my other children and i can just feel he will be here early like his sisters lol.

I am high risk, and they mention every time we go in how big the baby is. She is very, very lanky and long. And her belly measures almost 1.5 further along. So I have a feeling they'll take her early but I don't know for sure of course or how much earlier. I just know that with my first one you couldn't even tell I was pregnant, then 8.5 months rolled around and I BLEW UP everywhere. I did NOT want to be around people taking pictures, smiling, laughing, and enjoying themselves while I was dying a little inside because I couldnt shove myself into anything lol. So Maybe April 13th would be our best bet.

I had mine at 36 weeks, I went into labor three weeks later. I would suggest doing it a little earlier than that lol. I was hot and huge and very uncomfortable./

And how long do they usually last? On the invitation should I put from 2-4? or 2-3? or just starts at 2pm and I can just play it by ear. I usually don't like people anyway, especially in-laws so I really don't want to commit to two full hours with them lol (I know that was awful, but you would understand if you knew mine)

Mine was 1pm untill whenever everyone wanted to go home.   I hate my inlaws... seriously, and my MIL hates me too so luckily they only stayed an hour so I got to spend the rest of it enjoying being with my family and a few friends.  

My family is having mine March 24th.. I'm due May 3rd.
A random side note... the baby shower will be for both male and females.. my SO is planning a lot in it. I thought that was nice.

Yeah, I am making my hubby go with me lol. Baby showers are a lot of work when it's ALL just about YOU. So if I drag him along, maybe he'll get a little taste of what we pregnant woman have to go through! ;)
