It could just be braxton hicks. Just keep an eye on them and see if they are timeable. You may also want to get yourself a glass of water and lay on your left side for an hour. That usually settles them. Braxton hicks can hurt occassionally. If the pain is getting more intense, more frequent, longer in duration, and becomes timeable, call your DR.

I get them so much more when I am busy doing things. My doc said I need to lay low. Could this cause preterm labor if you dont slow down?

I have been having them like at the top of my belly too today, and they get really really sharp when I stand. But yesterday i had them in my lower belly. My nurse told me drink some water and lay down and if I have more then 6 in an hour to go to labor and delievery right away. Good luck!

I think it can be a factor, but I am not sure. I am @ risk for preterm because I already had 1 premie. I have also been told to lay low. I have noticed that whenI did slow it up and keep my feet up, I had less a day. I was getting 30 a day. Now I am down to 15. Also, I started to dilalte. Since I started resting more, I have had no more progression. So, there is something to say for laying low and slowing down. Good luck!
