I'm new here...but I already have a question!

I just got my Mirena IUD out, and I was curious to know who has had the Mirena IUD, what type of symptoms you had when you got it removed, and how long it took you to get pregnant after you got it removed? TIA!

Well mine kind of accidentally fell out from a procedure I had. But it for affect me. But I went on bc right away. But my friend had it for all 5 yrs and never had a period on it. She got preg immediately, never even experience a cycle afterwards. So apparently u can still ovulate on it.

I'm pregnant with number 2 after getting Mirena removed back in June.We actually got pregnant right after having it removed after I bled the first time but we lost it at 5 weeks. Got pregnant after the first period after the mc and now I'm 16w2d  

I personally havent been on it, but one of my good friends got pregnant on the mirena lol. She got it taken out when she was 8 weeks.

Thanks for the quick replies! I'm wondering because I'm having very weird things happen to my body, but I'm not sure if they are all just my body getting back into the swing of things. I'm not on BC and we aren't using protection, but it hasn't been very long since I had the IUD taken out, so I'm trying to figure out what is up with my body!

Took me 10 mos to get prego. And I had 2 periods the first month and a heavier flow and longer period my ob said it was due to the progesterone being removed with the iud

Okay another question for you ladies that have had the Mirena - Did you have any weird "symptoms" after the removal? If so, what kind?

No weird symptoms for me..Everything was fairly normal with me. I had a really light period with barely any cramping

Thanks for the reply Emma! The reason I'm asking is because I am having ALOT of early pregnancy symptoms, and it's driving me crazy! It would be WAY too early to test, even if I did by some slim chance get pregnant already. I'm just wondering if anyone else has had these type of symptoms, and if they were in fact pregnant or not.

How long has it been since you got it removed? Also, have you had a period yet? I mean there is a definite possibility that you could be. I experienced sore breasts, fatigue, and nausea around 3-3 1/2 weeks with both this pregnancy and the miscarriage.

I got mine removed after having it for a little over a year. I got pregnant 10-14 days later! I'm now 22wks with a healthy baby boy! I bled a few days after it was taken out but that was it. I didn't have a period the whole time I had it either.

Emma - I barely got mine out a week ago - but we had unprotected sex the day before (and maybe I google too much, but I heard that there is a small chance that you could still get prego if you had sex BEFORE you got it out) and pretty much every day since (haha oops.) I bled right after removal, and was kind of sore, but then things were fine the next day...Now, I'm having sore boobs, cramping, nausea, food cravings and aversions...and I even got the weird "pregnancy line" that I got with my first pregnancy SUPER early (like it was one of my early pregnancy symptoms) I'm so confused, and I feel like I'm driving myself crazy.

Well the best I can suggest is to wait it out a couple weeks either for your period or until enough time has passed so you can take a pregnancy test. If you can afford to spend the extra money I would get the EPT digital, its what worked for me and I tested exactly a month after the start of my last period with a positive. I used dollar store tests for the m/c and used like 6 of them and only two barely showed up so hubby brought home the ept and it popped up pregnant right away. So I had 2 more left over that I used for this pregnancy and now I still have one left cause I didn't need it lol. Haven't tried any other brands, but the ept is what worked for me
