Sorry about the crappy poll but im not feeling very creative right now. When do you think of congress and them pushing gun control. Should it be harder to get or should they be taken away completly??? Any other thoughts on the subject

We went looking at a new gun to purchase today and the prices have went way up. Now it takes at least 8 days for the background check to clear because theres so many people on the list. One thing that i DO agree with is getting rid of the gunshow loophole. Which is you dont have to do/have a background check before buying a firearm from a private party or a non dealer at a gunshow. I think everybody should have to pass the background check prior. I also think that you should at least have to show ID to buy any kind of ammo. I have only been ID once or twice while buying ammo

I'm in favor of a change in gun control. I'm not for taking away all guns. I understand why we have the second amendment. But I do think it's way to easy for people to get them that shouldn't have them.

Wow 8 days, thats so quick, over here we have to wait 28 days for our clearance and even then most times it takes longer than that before you get your letter of acceptance.
Even though I am a competitive shooter and love my guns and my sport, I do agree about the loop holes at gun shows etc. I think it should be mandatory for a complete background check (not just criminal but also mental health issues) under any circumstance.

28 days  I guess americans are impatient. lol. Itn normally a few hours for background checks. I agree with the mental health being included in the BG checks but i think the government would have problems deciding which ones would get you excluded from owning a firearm, kwim?

A few hours geez... I would go nuts if I lived over there, you guys have access to so much more than we are allowed.
Thats true about the mental health checks, but I guess they would just have to go with there discression on it. Alot of incidents that have occured in the past few years have been from mentaly unstable people that have recieved no help from the medical/health system, the government or there family.
I know that if I could prevent even a few mentaly unstable people from owning a gun its got to be worth something, such as there life and the life of others kwim?

They made that law here about 9-10 years ago we are not permitted more than 10 round clips. We get fined and could lose our licence/guns if we get caught with anything over as its an offence .

I guess yuour laws are stricter than ours. What if your house was broken into and there were 4 intruders, you get approximetly 2 shots per intruder. Now i know that if im nervous or in a hurry my aim is off & would be worried about missing them

Honestly... over here we would probably get locked up and charged with GBH or murder for shooting the intruder that has broken into OUR home to harm US crazy right?lol.
We have to keep all our firearms locked away and our ammo locked totally seperate so I would be dead by the time I even got to my firearms out, unless I nicely asked the intruder to take a seat and make them self at home while I lock and load lol.

Hide, Call 000 and wait for the police to arrive, and arrive they normally do... to the victim robbed, beaten up, stabbed, shot (by an illegal firearm) or to a murder scene!
We are not permitted firearms for self defence purposes.

Thats why I think you guys are so lucky to be allowed to defend your home and your family.

I agree with the background checks.
The MUCH bigger issue that impacts much more than gun violence is mental health.
