Hospital time?
posted 17th Jan
My 3 year old has been throwing up since like 10 pm and won't drink..she took a sip of water. It was orange first and now I'm thinking its all bile because its just tiny amounts of yellow fluid coming up. She keeps going back to sleep in between but looks kind of pale but I haven't gotten anything above 98.6? on my ear thermometer.

Does your doctors office have an after hours number you can call?

I wouldn't take a child who had been vomiting since 10 PM, vomiting bile and no fever. If she hasn't eaten or drank of course it's going to be bile. See how she is tomorrow and reevaluate her illness. It may be just a 24 hour bug. Of course if she gets worse then take her in but I honestly don't feel this is ER worthy.

Personally, I would wait, since it hasn't been 24 hours. I'd just call the pedi in the morning and see if they can squeeze you in.

Does she have allergies or a runny nose (or even post nasal dripage)? My DD sometimes gets post nasal drip that causes her to gag and throw up, no fever, just mucus which looks like what you described. When that happens usually Mucinex does the trick within an hour of taking it.

Yeah I was thinking the same but wanted to make sure I'm not being to relaxed about it.

Cylus had a stomach bug earlier this week. He would puke and puke and puke. I heard water was horrible to give after puking though. He never ran a fever or anything. After about 12 hrs it got better though. Then we had a day of liquid poo but yea.

Nah not too relaxed IMO. Also try Gatorade instead of water.
