crying in his sleep

posted 16th Jan
My son has been asleep for maybe an hour and has already cried in his sleep 3 times... He'll start crying and call out mom, i touch his face and whisper in his ear and he calms down and stops crying.... He did this over the weekend while he was sick, and i just felt his forehead and he's feeling warm again.... i don't want him to be sick

Might just be bad dreams

babies even adults get weird dreams when they don't feel good. My girls only got sick ones each last year. It was bad enough and it got to the point where our 2.5 year old would have to come lay by me in bed. I couldn't handle her crying in her sleep. She was fine with going back to her bed ones she felt better. My oldest doesn't really do the whole cuddle thing, but she didn't cry or anything tho either.

Our whole house has been in and out of sick all week. I know I've gotten some funky dreams when I'm sick, so i wouldn't be surprised if that were it. Monday night i was really sick and i had a dream about a migraine, and every time I'd wake up i was so delirious i had no idea if i had a migraine or if i was just dreaming it. I swear i cried out in pain in my sleep from it.. When i finally woke up and wasn't delirious i realized i did in fact have a migraine and i soaked my shirt in sweat... Trying to comprehend the dream thing gave me another headache lol

yea. The doc said that they both had a cold but the problem was that their temps would fluxs really bad...so we had to consently watch them..then I got sick but I guess because I'm pregnant I got strep throat and lerengitis..then hubby got it last and it was back to being a cold. I've had a bad headache the last 3 days..tonight it finally stopped..hubby thinks its because of the weather..I don't care as long as it doesnt come back. I hope your little man starts to feel better...could be a growth spurt sometimes those hurt and can cause a small fever. You will probably know more in the morning.

He had a pretty constant fever over the weekend, kept it down with Tylenol, then he seemed fine Monday and Tuesday, but today he sat curled up on my step dads lap for like 4 hours which is not normal for him to sit still. He asked me to take him to bed at like 6:30, also not normal. He's sleeping with m me in my room since its so cold out, makes me more comfortable. He was asleep by 8 which isn't super early, but he stays up till 9 most nights.. Then the crying in his sleep... I'm hoping he isn't sick again, but i won't be surprised if he is.

Children can bounces back really easily, but sometimes they try to do more then they should and it ends up making them feel sick again. Kind of like adults when doc say don't push it to hard. children are very active and can fight off colds faster, but it still takes time. depending on his age I'd lay off the milk for a day if he has a fever then the milk will curd in his tummy and make him sick. watch if he rubs his ears or lays on one side rather then the other could be a simple ear infection. pedialite and cold or warm soft things for the throat..a little bit at a time he will get better. The sooner you work with is body to fight it the better he will get. Its not easy seeing your child sick, but helping them get better is what moms are for..one of many things. lol.

I need to get him some pedialite, he's been drinking warm tea with me and ice water. We don't drink much milk as it is, so he hasn't had any the last few days. He's 2, he played hard this morning so that might have retriggeted whatever he had.

my oldest is a big milk drinker so we found out the hard way about the milk. If you notice him wanting to stop and relax but then right away get up and play again see if you can get him to sit for a few extra minutes sometimes even the smallest amounts help..try a few craft activites on the floor together where it requires a bit more sitting time. we usually do some kind of craft each evening, but thats because im 7m pregnant and the girls like doing them, so it gives me a bit of relax time with them.

We try to sit and color for an hour or so, but he scribbles a few quick colors and then is up and running... He will literally pick a random toy and run in circles around it for 15 minutes straight.... I wish i had half his energy...
