Just a quick question. I don't want this to hurt feelings or anything just a honest curiosity question.

Those who have had a baby adopted out. (Or if you know someone who has) do they consider themselves mothers or do they just not talk about it/put it behind them as if it didn't happen?

And those who have had abortions. Same question. Not like if you/they have other children but just that one... Do they count that as still being a mother or what?!

Well look at Kaitlyn on Teen Mom, she gave her daughter up for adoption and considers herself a mother. I mean she did give birth to the little girl. I don't know about aborted babies though. If I had an abortion I wouldn't consider myself a mother.

I would consider them birth mothers. VERY different, IMO. And no, I don't think women who abort are mothers.

I could see how people who gave their child up for adoption would consider themselves mothers, they did carry a baby in them for 9 months, the fact that they chose adoption doesn't make them not a mother. Hopefully just means they were making a responsible choice for both them and the baby. Women who abort are in no way mothers IMO. I have a friend who aborted, her child would have been born around the same time as my son. She in no way considers herself to be a mother.
