Organic veggies and farm fresh eggs

posted 16th Jan
We got a flyer in the mail today for an organic farm that offers a delivery of organic veggies, fruits and farm fresh eggs......this might seem like a stupid question, but whats the difference between farm fresh eggs and eggs you get in the grocery store, arent the ones you get in the grocery store pasteurized, or am I wrong on that assumption?

Color in egg, color and york. Major difference is what the chicken is fed making farm fresh way more healthy

the chickens are fed different food, treated differently, and aren't injected with hormones to make them grow faster.

It depends on what goes on at the farm...usually the ones from the store the chickens have been pumped full of antibiotics and other junk that causes them to mass produce eggs. My mom has chickens so I get my eggs from her...they taste a lot different than store bought and the yolk is a dark orange compared to the neon yellow from store bought ones.

DH wants to start eating healthier, and we thought this would be a good start.

You wont ever want to eat store eggs again!! Thats assuming the chickens are naturally fed/ free range with no hormones fed to them.

They take some getting used to if you haven't had fresh eggs before but they are so yummy. I can't go back to the store bought ones now....they taste like a watered down version of an egg lol (is the best way I can describe it)

if you scroll to the bottom of this it shows you the nutrition difference. I eat organic as much as I can, even the meats taste better and your body feels better and regulates after the switch, it is just expensive. I fully recommend eating all organic if possible though.

well this is what it says on their website about the eggs:
Second option are eggs grown by Timothy Stoll, an Amish farmer in the Kawartha's. They're free range, small scale, certified organic. We pick them up weekly

My parents have chickens, so I just get my eggs from them. They're thicker and heartier, and taste better.

Also, hormone free, so yay.
