Venison cookin mamas!

posted 16th Jan
Never cooked it myself so I need some help. I have a few loins I'm going to cook here in a bit for DH when he gets home and I need ideas and tips on how to cook them.

TIA ladies

I throw mine in the crock pot with some soup mix. I add a little onion and voila!

I soak mine for about 7 hours (changing the water at times) and then make them like regular steaks. Venison is the only red meat my DD will eat, so I try and keep it in supply in the freezer here, lol.

ETA: I soak them to get out the game taste.   The meat I have in the freezer comes from a deer that wasn't bled very well.

Just make steaks and fry them up like you would a beef steak. It tastes different but delicious. I wish someone around here would have got a deer this year. SO never went.

I have made it into

Pot Roast
Philly cheese steak

I have a grinder and have made portions of it for

Tacos
Hamburgers
Italian seasoned meat for spaghetti/lasagna
Chilli

I cooked the meat the use my foodsaver to seal them up and freeze for later meals

Ok so I've decided to pan fry them in a high-heat skillet with just some basic house seasoning. Should I fry them in a bit of olive oil?
