re: Sandy Hook Parents not fake, misguided situation?

There is a city in Arkansas that is declaring quasi-martial law.

I feel we are only a step or two from it being implemented across the country.

I just googled that to find out more, and I just found a few articles from Dec. 17-20 about how the mayor was proposing that for 2013 and that there would be town hall meetings to discuss it, which have since been cancelled.

Do you have any information suggesting that they're actually doing this?

This is their local message board about it.
Original article it references.

Yeah, I already read the article...but I'm not going to read through 149 pages of comments.

Can you point to a direct link, article, or some other information with evidence that police are currently patrolling the streets in SWAT gear, with AR-15s around their necks, stopping random dog walkers?

Damn! 3rd try with posting...

It hasn't been implemented yet, as it has to pass through congress or get approval through the Governor. From what I gather, it's supposed to start in 2013 and only in certain neighborhoods.

Well then this, "There is a city in Arkansas that is declaring quasi-martial law." is a little bit ahead of itself, huh?

We'll see if it passes.

There's nothing wrong with questioning "authority." Just don't jump to hysterical conclusions simply because you heard a rumor. Look it up. Use your critical thinking skills. Dig deeper. There is no good that can come from mass hysteria. Think about the motives behind those rumors you're hearing. Don't just question what you're hearing, question WHY you're hearing it. Think harder. And when you have absolute proof that some stuff is going down that threatens the greater good, then by all means rage against it.

I read in an article on Yahoo last week that there is a town in Louisiana that is going to be patroled by armed police officers 24/7, and if they see you outside your house then you have to provide ID and a reason to be out. The citizens of the town that they interviewed for the article said they wanted this to happen because it would make them safe.

Them declaring it and actually passing it are two different things.

Eta: Remember, quasi means "like", which implies that although the military would more than likely be there (possibly NG), their law enforcement would still have jurisdiction.

I understand, like in Louisiana, Arkansas, places that need extra reinforcements because of the crime or natural disasters but if in the wrong hands...
That's scary...Ever since the JWDAA and NDAA was passed, this could happen anywhere, with or without consent.

I completely agree with you. It's very scary. And I'm shocked at how many people would ask for their freedom to be taken away like that just out of fear. I think it's only the beginning....
