It won't, but I don't appreciate my RIGHT to own one of those semi-automatic weapons being taken away. Which includes any semi-automatic handguns, and semi-automatic rifles and shotguns. But someone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong on that one. People do hunt and shoot for leisure, and some post-military men and women feel safer owning one of those than a regular handgun.

This is all about rights. I should have the right to decide if I want to have healthcare. I shouldn't have my second amendment rights slowly scraped away by executive orders.

I suggest you dig a little deeper. Again, there's a bigger picture.
Hitler didn't try to take guns away from everyone, mostly just the Jewish population, which was commonly blamed as the cause of all that was wrong in Germany at the time. If the US government started saying that certain populations should be banned from owning guns, and that we should live and breed in a way that would make that population obsolete, then maybe it would be a little more evenly comparable.

If "taking away our rights" is what we need to rise up against, then ok. I like rights. I'd like the right to do whatever I want. But then, if we could all do whatever we wanted, it would be a little chaotic, no? So we have laws, and guidelines, and restrictions on things. They aren't perfect, but they're the best we can come up with. And if you don't like the way the government is being run, then at least you won't get killed for saying so. Maybe some people do, idk. But most don't. We can all agree on that, right?

Which is still a gun ban. Even if it was against one population, it was still a ban. It was a gun ban against a population that he wanted to control. Same thing, except for it goes across all populations here.

I still stand firm in my belief that we have yet to fully see Barack Obama's true colors, and that we'll get to really see them as this term progresses.

I never said I am 100% for everything the government does. I'm not a big fan of the idea of being able to imprison people for no reason. Sure, there are people held in prison just because they refuse to talk, or refuse to admit to whatever the government is accusing them of. My head isn't buried in the sand.

But what people are you referring to, and what makes you so informed about the subject? Curious.
