I am starting to think there could be things that our government does that the president doesn't even know about. Like, a dark secret agency that operates completely off grid. I know, sounds like a movie plot lol. But still, just......too much coincidence and things not adding up.

I agree with that. There's no way Barack Obama is calling the shots. He's just a face. I feel like such a loon saying that in public but it's honestly how I feel

I was a crying mess and I am not even an actor or in any way involved, I just kept thinking about my children and how I would feel in that situation.

i do not and will never trust our government or our media. they are paid by lobbyists FFS, why the smurf would anyone believe them and IF they are creating nasty inside jobs, we will never know because they are so smurfing powerful, all they have to do is kill people who out them.

i do believe the shooting happened. HOWEVER, i also believe that specific details were left out of it, fabricated and/or changed, and i'm sure if anyone steps forward to admit to the lies they will die and so will their whole family.

the government sucks ass and i wouldn't doubt if the prez is trying to ban firearms mainly so that he can wage a bigger war on the people in the country.

No I agree with you. Hes a figurehead. Sure he has his own thoughts and opinions and occasionally we see them but for the most part other people are running the show. I really felt that way when Bush Jr was president too.

I'm going to admit that before dating the SO, I never had any of these thoughts, I lived blissfully unaware of the government and I believed they had our best interests at heart. Now I feel that they are slowly taking away our constitutional rights, which should limit their power not ours.

And the face that the public gets to see has no military background of any kind. I just don't buy it. I think Obama is definitely just a friendly face for the public, not the saving grace I once believed him to be.

While the government keeps getting bigger I often think of this Thomas Jefferson quote
When the people fear their government, there is tyranny; when the government fears the people, there is liberty.

What kind of war, exactly, do you think the president is trying to wage on our country? And why? What is he trying to gain?

The Sandy Hook hoax video, if you watch all the way to the end, explicitly states that THE MAIN POINT is that the government is trying to take everyone's guns away. I can't imagine why they would want to do that. However, I can see a lot of reasons why the gun industry would want to make sure nothing changes. They're making tons of money, especially right now. Because of THEIR hysteria, demand and pricing for guns have gone way up. Demand up plus price up = Holy Crap We're RICH!

I don't think it's naive to think that the majority of people in government are there because they have strong feelings about serving the American people. I do, however, think it is incredibly naive to allow oneself to be led by an industry which is just trying to protect its profits and will say ANYTHING to emotionally manipulate its market.

I like that quote. I cannot understand why the government is making gun control a big deal, I live in Chicago and we should be the number one reason why gun control just is not efficient. We were banned from owning firearms for over 30 years and we have continued to see high volumes of gun crimes even though there should be no one that owns a firearm here.

I'm guessing you haven't heard President Obama's executive actions he's planning to take on gun policy, have you?

I'm sure the Germans felt the same way when their leader began to take guns away, using the children as a platform to disarm the citizens.

The POTUS is from Chicago....I have no idea why he'd think that was a good idea seeing how terribly it failed here. Just another reason why I think he's just a face.

Even with if it WAS a good idea, and it's not, I'd really like to see him pull this off without any issues. You can't strip away chunks of the second amendment and have that go down swimmingly.

There's a lot more to it than that though.
Chicago has some of the worst neighborhoods in America. I remember hearing horror stories when I lived there, little kids who were tortured and *almost* murdered, left to die in ghetto stairwells. I saw a dude chase another dude down the street with a pitchfork. 15 years later, I am STILL like, "where the f did he get a pitchfork?!" All kinds of crime happens there. It's the poverty, and the ghettos, and the ghetto culture, and a whole lot of other things. I live near DC, which is also awful, and guns were pretty much banned there altogether for years. But you have to consider the whole picture, it's not just an exclusively gun control issue.

Look at other parts of the world where everybody doesn't feel entitled to owning a firearm, and compare the crime statistics.
Here, we can't put naked people on tv but we can put gruesome murder on prime time. We glorify criminals. Look at all that Wild West stuff! I know this post is kind of all over the place, but you can't just say, "Well when guns were banned, crime was up, so gun control doesn't work." If it wasn't such a complex issue, it would have been solved by now.
If we limit what's available on the market, then we make it harder for the criminals to get guns. I know they'll get them anyway, I'm not stupid. But why make it so easy? What's the advantage of that?
