re: To the Uninsured:

posted 17th Jan
I didn't have insurance until after i gave birth to LO. My beta blocker WAS $75,now i don't have to pay for it. My insurance doesn't cover my xanax though, but that's only $20. My insurance still doesn't cover my doctor visit's sure i could get a new doctor that would accept, but i wont. I have to pay $50-70 each visit every 4months. Which isn't bad considering he is awesome.

I'm pretty sure i know how it FEELS to be without insurance, paying out of pocket for expensive medicine for 5 years. The day i gave birth to my son they set us both up for insurance. I wouldn't be on medicaid if i didn't have a child. I'm not on foodstamps or anything else, but i'd be a smurfing moron to turn down FREE INSURANCE. Something which honestly should be free to everyone working or not.

Is your Xanax brand name or do you have to take a lot? Mine's only about $3.00.

I'm insured now but have been uninsured...
My kids have crap insurance now (super high deductible) so I usually don't claim insurance for them and just pay cash.
Anyways, what we do....
No "routine" Dr. visits.
Pay cash price (which is much cheaper than what they charge your insurance)
Negotaite, negotiate, negotiate
Payment plans....

We've gone through meningitis, two broken bones, and a pregnancy/ delivery without insurance.
I've often stressed about medical costs and somehow, we've always been able to cover them...God always seems to provide and for that I'm greatful.
