Quoting Dr. Paradigm Shift:" I had my first at 27- I'm 34 now and SO glad I waited. SO, SO, SOOOOOO glad. I got to be young, go ... [snip!] ... be young, go to school unburdened by kids, date, go out, do the bar/club thing to my heart's content, travel alone, be young. "

I got to do all those things also. My Husband did too. It was wonderful and we learned a lot in those years, We wouldn't trade it for the world.

Same with me! I lived up north for quite a while, and up there they don't even think about having kids young. I was only the 2nd out of my entire group of friends to have a baby, I was 29 (Just had him in September) The first in our group was my best friend, who had been married for 3 years already, and was 28 with her first.

Quoting !!Katie!!:" lol You make a sad face about people having babies when they're 29! It's starting to get a little insulting  I guarantee you that when you're 29, you won't think you're "old"  "

Seriously. 29 is so far from "old".

HOMG.

Or "Later in life" lol...

I consider 29 to be pretty "early in life still..."

And just for smurfs and giggles, OP - Check this out
"The young adult stage in human development precedes middle adulthood. A person in the middle adulthood stage ages from 40 to 64. In maturity, a person is 65 years old or older."

Wikipedia! So stop calling us old...dammit...hehe

This is just making me laugh. I had my first at 29 and my second at 32. To say I am old is just ridiculous. I have never met anyone outside of BG that wants kids so freakin young. Sure it happens, but to me, its more ideal to wait. You cant get your 20s back. Its not like I cant play with my kids and run around with them. My dad is 65 and runs around with all his grandkids!

Oh, I didn't mean it that way. I meant that at 29, even my mom struggled to conceive. That is what I was making the sad face at, not the fact that she started having children at 29.

I know, right: ) When I got pregnant w/ my son I started waiting tables for extra money and all my coworkers were so nice and always trying to help me out and take care of me like I was helpless kid, then I found out they were treating me like that because they though I was like 17yrs old. They were shocked when I told them I was 28 and on my 3rd marriage lol!

We had our first when I was 26, and had our second five months ago. I am now 29. I don't feel old at all lol. I honestly wouldn't of been able to handle kids at a young age emotionally, mentally, and financially just wasn't ready. We TTC our kids when we were ready. Since we waited we were able to get through college, travel some, gain experiences, and be a married couple for a year without kids.

I am hoping to at least have one more biological kid in a couple years. I am fortunate that getting pregnant has never been an issue for me nor is having babies. Issues like that can happen at any age.

I was 28 when I had my first. I don't regret waiting, my 20's were fun. I just turned 35 a month after I had my third. I do feel pretty darn old but I think that making a few changes in my diet and lack of exercise routine would help with that.

I gotcha. Funny, I didn't even try to conceive, we had sex ONCE (count it, ONCE lol) that month (busy month) and I got pregnant...WITH a condom...lol...so don't worry , not everyone struggles

DH jokes that when we actually TTC [in about 4 years] I'll get pregnant that day because our 2 kids were a result of 2 drunken incidents where he didn't pull out in time lol.

I don't know anyone either. Maybe a few people who accidentally ended up pregnant around 20-21, but no one who a actually wanted to TTC.
