If I have another baby...

posted 16th Jan
I have a 4 month old right now and one day I want another baby. But when I have birth to my daughter I tore really bad inside and out and had to get A LOT of stitches I was in the OR for an hour. My doctor said if I have another child it will have to be a C section which makes me really sad because I really want another child one day but I do not want a c section..

Then find another doctor that will let you deliver vaginally.

I tore horribly with my first and only had mild abrasions with my second and third children. All vaginal. That shouldn't be a factor.

I'm not sure why my doctor told me it would have to be a c section maybe he thinks the tear in my cervix will tear worse if I try pushing a baby out again..

I had torn terribly with my first. It honestly traumatized me.
I'm now pregnant with my second and have a new doctor. She is absolutely awesome. I let her read over all my charts from my previous delivery and she told me that your first is USUALLY the worst. NOT in all cases, but most. She said she strongly recommends vaginal delivery. I would wait until you're completely healed up. Give it a good long while. You can always look for a new doctor. I had to. So glad I did. Good luck.

When I gave birth to my baby I was like I will never want to have another one after that! But now I changed my mind and want another one one day. I might find a new doctor next time though.. How long do you think I should wait to get pregnant again?

My daughter will be four this month. I waited a few years. I almost died after my first and I'm not a dramatic person. So for me to say that means it was terrible. Did you have to have any blood transfusions? I had to have four and it scared me smurfless. I would get a second opinion, but I would honestly wait a good whole year. I'm not planning for a C-Section though. If I end up needing one I will, but for now I'm going to shoot for vaginally.

I was close to needed a blood transfusion partly because my iron was really low but didn't end up needing one thank God! Ill probably wait a year or two for my next.

Don't worry! It's less likely to happen the second time! You'll be fine.

P.S Don't forget to see another doctor if you really do not want a c-section.

If you do find yourself pregnant again, beware of incompetent cervix. It can happen after a tear to the cervix. You may require a cerclage... A stitch in your cervix inserted in early pregnancy to help support baby's weight so you dont dilate prematurely and lose the baby.

That's scary! I hope that doesn't happen
