Quoting Colt's mommy:" Exactly. I've seen it happen. I've seen a little girl screaming and running around the room while we ... [snip!] ... worse. THEN the mother calls and complains that the other tech traumatized her daughter. Children are very tricky, lol."

Exactly. And, my kids LOVE the dentist, so when I saw her acting a fool, I knew it was cause of me there. When she was 5, she had to have 2 teeth pulled. A week after they pulled the second and put in her spacer, she woke up on a Saturday wanting to go see "Dr Jack." When I explained we will go back in 6 months but not until then, she had a HUGE meltdown. They let me know when it's time for a check up most of the time lol. When my 5 yr old had his 3 yr check up he was so excited to go back alone and he is typically my extremely clingy child lol. The way our dentist office is though is one giant room with doorless "rooms" off of the big one, so pretty much you can stand in the center and see every 50 chairs in the entire place. I would die if I had to switch dentists. When we were living in San Antonio, we still kept them and I just made the 4 hour drive every 6 months lol

Quoting A is Me:" Maybe they don't allow more than one person back with child at a time which I can understand bc most ... [snip!] ... I sat knee to knee and my son sat in my lap facing me and leaned back into dentist's lap. That made things much easier for DS."

oh wow 15 months.. I'm really behind! How did your son do? Mine just started a phase of fighting us (more like refusing) to brush his teeth, I can only imagine how he is going to react with a complete strannger. But then again he may surprise me..

hmmmmmm I'd should sue LOL!

Seriously though they did not get my consent to papoose my child and I was PISSED when I was told what happened by my very articulate 2yr old. He was seriously tramatized.

My 21mos old has been 2x to the dentist now, we did the lap to lap method and it worked great.

Quoting Supafly★:" Some don't but I wouldn't go to one that wouldn't let me back there. I recently heard of a story where ... [snip!] ... the parents even know about it.   Plus my 3 year old is scared of everything so I had to be there to help hold him down. "

Um WHAT
and I didn't like the idea to begin with..

He did good they said...he cried and fought when they cleaned his teeth but as soon as they were our of his mouth he was okay. He wasn't fighting for his life terrified or anything, just scared of something new. It helped me more than him to be able to hug him the second they were through. Overall I think he liked it though because he got to play in the waiting room and get a prize

That is awesome they get to watch movies! Lol I do not remember that when I was a child!

In all seriousness you prob could. They cannot do that without consent, I don't think. There are law firms taking cases!

Oh yeah, they have screens in the ceilings so they can watch a movie or play video games. Then they also have handheld games they can play. For the cleanings they get a pair of sunglasses to protect their eyes from the big lights. LOVE their office.

Quoting GL♣PB:" Now I wish we had a Kool Smiles .. there are only 18 Pediatric Dentists within 25 miles of us (and in ... [snip!] ... of us (and in network with our insurance), but over a hundred General, would you definitely reccommend a Pedi over Gen then?"

i dont know because i have nothing to compare to. i just know i love kool smiles and their setup, where all the kids are in one cute room. it helped cam before since he could watch other kids and knew they were okay, and then had the distractions of the pictures on the wall and whatnot. also, the ladies that work there are super nice and know just what to do with him when hes nervous even if im back there... so obviously a pedi dentistry would be better with children obviously, or i would assume so

LOL Right?! I asked him once if he took adults and he just laughed and said no, they are biters lmfao. My daughter still, to this day, refuses to believe that he actually pulled her teeth. She insists he did magic and they just fell out. He's been practicing for 30 years, I just dread the day he announces he is retiring. Hopefully my youngest will be 18 by then.

My daughters dentist lets you go back for all cleanings. But when it comes to the dental work they make you sit out side. Due to the child risking injury while they are doing dental work. My Lo was put under for 4 cavities bc she is 3 and the Valium and nitrous did work.

Every other Pediatric Dentist on my in network list either has bad reviews or no reviews, so I ended up making an appointment with the one that has 4 stars with a couple bad ones. The receptionist said parents are allowed back until the child is 3 years old, because the setting is open in the back, there really isn't much room for parents.. but since he is under 3 we will go to the first appointment and see how we both do from there.
Thank you everyone
