Mirena help *TMI*

I've had Mirena for almost 4 years now. The string has always been way up in my vagina to where I have had to prop my butt up and feel as deep as I could to check the string.
Well today I put my finger up there and felt the string not very deep at all. Not even as deep as my second knuckle on my finger. It's never been there before.

Is that normal and it's just never done it before it what? SO and I have been having sex regularly so it would be a problem if it has moved out of position.

Help?

I will be calling the Dr. tomorrow then. Thanks. I've been having weird fevers for no reason lately as well. I don't know if they are linked, but it's definitely strange now that I've discovered how low the strings are.
