counting calories

I suck at counting calories... I use my fitness pal but i use it maybe half a day once a week.. I've never actually logged a full honest day... Mostly because i realize how many calories i actually eat.... More than i should! My daily calorie goal is set at 1240. I have ate breakfast, lunch, and one snack. Today I'm doing half way decent. I have 500 calorie left for another snack and dinner, but I'm sure I'll end up eating another 1000.... I need to stock my shelves with more low calorie options...

If you count calories, what are your go to low calorie snacks, and how do youdivide up your calories for the day?

The only snacks I eat are fruits, veggies and 100 cal things really.
I don't deprive myself, everything in moderation.
I eat a light lunch, but substantial breakfast and dinner.
I log honestly, even if I'm over....tomorrow is a new day.

I've lost 30 lbs since last June. Add me! My username is emilycupcakes

I have horrible self control when it comes to food. After dinner is over I actually tie the refrigerator doors together so I won't eat when I'm not hungry

What types of food are you eating?

My calorie goal is set to 1200 and I've had breakfast, lunch and snack and still have 788 calories left for snack/dinner.

For breakfast I had yogurt and 1 cup of strawberries.
Lunch was a turkey sandwich w/ onion and chive cream cheese (instead of sliced cheese), lettuce and pickle slices. Sliced cucumber and grape tomatoes with greek yogurt ranch dip.
Snack was an orange
Dinner is going to be roasted veggies (potato, zuchinni, red/orange/green bell peppers) and grilled chicken.
And if I have another snack it will be fruit or a veggie.

Ah, that's how I was! I am a total emotional eater. When the day died down and I actually had time to myself, that's when I'd want to eat and eat for no reason at all.

I had an egg scramble with cheese and ham. I had an orange for a snack, and a bagel and cream cheese for lunch...the bagel was over 200 calories itself :/

Do you like egg whites? That's a good way to cut some calories. Egg whites are only 17 calories each. I cut up onion, bell pepper, and tomato and add it in while I scramble them, hard boil them and add it to a salad, etc.

Block cheese is the one thing I miss! I don't ever eat cheese anymore because of how many calories it has. And I haven't been eating any meat except chicken.

Egg whites only would save calories, but I'd rather just eat the whole egg. Add i don't like tomatoes, onions, or peppers lol

I'm picky...

I mostly eat mozzarella cheese. But i occasionally eat block cheddar too. I could never cut out cheese. Pasta is another thing i can't cut either, I'd eat pasta daily if i could! That's where my problem is. Portion control and carbs...

Ugh.... Just finished dinner and logged it in.... I'm at 1726 calories for the day :/ rice-a-roni was over 300 calories itself.. And i added corn and ground beef... And i probably had more than a serving size.... Ooh andi had a slice of bread with butter.... My dinner was like 800 calories :/

If you're serious about cutting calories and losing weight/getting healthy, you've got to cut all that crap out. Plan out how many calories you're eating BEFORE you eat it, measure stuff, etc.

Pre packaged rice like that is terribly high in calories and sodium. For dinner last night I roasted veggies, a small/medium yellow potato, small zuchinni and bell peppers. Chopped up 3 oz of grilled chicken and mixed it into the veggies. My plate was full and it was only 380 calories, I could have added a salad in if I was still hungry and still been fine with calories.

My rule is to cut out most pre packaged stuff. I mostly eat fruit, veggies, chicken, bread and dairy. I still eat packaged pasta (whole wheat) and brown rice.

We usually don't eat pre packaged. We were just bring lazy, but I'm never eating rice aroni again.... That's horrible... I ended up with like 2800 calorie yesterday.... I could have ate my homemade fettucine which is high in calories and still have ate less calories than last night.. No more of that....
