Found this on my friends facebook page today. Loved it. How do you feel about it? (for those of you that don't know amendment one was about defining marriage between one man and one women in NC)

" Remember during the 'Amendment One' fight every other post of mine was about gay rights and everyone here in North Carolina just wanted me to stfu? For weeks all of their posts have been about gun rights. It sucks having your rights threatened, doesn't it? Maybe now you can better empathize with gay people?

I've enjoyed watching certain people frantically post about how the constitution is being stepped on when last year they smurf all over the constitution and equality. Oh the irony."

I like it!

As a whole, humans are extremely selfish. Take someone else rights away? That's fine. Doesn't affect me. TAKE MY rights away? Well now we have a problem.

I'm sorry, but 1. The right to bear arms is already in the constitution, the right to homosexual marriage isn't (actually, I don't think the right to marriage is even in the constitution, lol)
2. Having a firearm to protect a family is far more important than whether Dick and Harry can get married. They can live together, sleep together, etc, no hindrance on their well being.

I know all guns aren't being taken away, all that jazz. But, to compare the two circumstances is asinine.

I'm married and not on his health insurance. I'm not certain how that's a huge deal :/

Well that's only a big deal if the other person get sick. Duuuuuuuuuh. And all homos are super healthy with their quinoa salads and their runs with their teacup poodles right? That's what gays do right?

That's a huge deal to those who have health problems and need the insurance.

Difference between having health insurance & not having health insurance. Lol. I can see how it would be. I've also heard that if they have children together only one of them can be the 'legal' parent, so if one of them dies the kids wouldn't be able to just go to the other person. Idk if that's how it is in all 50 states... I just heard it from a lesbian w/ kids *shrug*

I think both are equally important. People should have the right to bear arms with rules as homosexuals should be able to marry with rules. I say with rules because even heterosexual marriages have rules to follow for tax, health insurance, and so forth.
