Unique spellings, that is?
I know there are lots of classic name lovers here but I'm just genuinely curious.
Just last week I saw a girl on my FB timeline and her son is going to be named 'Karter'...yes Karter. Then last night, I saw another one of my FB friends is expecting and her daughter will be named Kyndall...yes Kyndall. When I saw it, I barfed in my mouth a little bit but of course I'm not going to say anything to either one of them. What they choose to name their spawn is up to them, but seeing those unique spellings has me curious as to how popular are unique spellings on BG.

I absolutely hate them.
There are plenty of gorgeous unique legit names out there without getting creative with the spelling.
It honestly just looks stupid.

When I see this it makes me think of myself my name is Rebekah. *that is the actual spelling for it* It was put into th ebible for it but because people have made it Rebecca, people think that is the way it is supposed to be spelt. Pisses me offf!

Well it depends. If it is a legit spelling (usually from another origin) then yes. For example, Susanna is the most known proper spelling, but I prefer Zuzanna, the Slavic origin.
The trend of replacing an vowel in a name with a Y? I find that to be HORRIBLE. Its hideous. (Speaking from experience about my own name). I don't agree with spelling a name wrong because it makes it unique. It really doesn't, it makes the parent of the child look like a dumb ass.... especially if you spelled it wrong to be phonetically correct (example - Soofeeyah).

Some of them I do. If its completely ridiculous (like J'lyl....that STILL pisses me off every time I see it) I just can't get with. My rule is, if it looks ridiculous enough to hinder getting a job, you shouldnt name your child that

Out of the 29260 Sophia's born in 2011, 22 were named Sophiah, 19 Sophiya's and 6 Sopheya's. so yeah, I'm sure some dumb ass went there in 2012.

She somehow manages to put his name at least once a day in her fb status. It got to the point, I had to hide her because I got unreasonably angry at that childs name. I never thought I could ever hate a name lol.

IMO, that's a legit spelling. I like it. Now if it was Hay'Lee we'd have to have a heart- to-heart!

Hahahahaha. I've gotten smurf for it. But, Hayleigh owns her name ;).
