This is really interesting! Seems like a common theme so far is your water breaking which I think is interesting considering I've been told how uncommon it is in all of my birthing classes!

Sounds a lot like my labour. Brutally slow, back labour started at 39wk 3days. When I went to be checked my cervix was high + tightly closed. They wouldn't let me go home again, I didn't know why but it turned out my baby was posterior + stuck. They knew this all along + never told me! I'm guessing they hoped she'd turn herself but it never happened. 1 cm dilated after 24 hours, sweep done at 28 hours which got me to 3cm. 36 hours - rushed off for emergency c section. So it was sudden in that it was 4 days before my EDD but very horribly slow with little progress. If I had progressed to natural birth they told me it would've gone on a lot longer + been a forceps delivery.

At 36 weeks 4 days i was dialated 4 cm when admitted to hospital. Had my baby next morning after 15 min of pushing. I was completely thinned and dropped also. I had my 2nd and 3rd by 36 wk also and most likely will have this 4th before 38 this time:-) possibly go a little longer bc i wanna do my laboring at home and only go to hodpital when im more dialated like 7 cm:-)

When did you deliver your first 2? I had my 1st 36 wk 5 days my 2nd 36 wk exact and my 3rd 36 wk 6 days.she proabbly would have stayed untill 37.5 wks but i was very uncomfortable and dialated at 3 already so decided to do squats while speed walking with family and that sent me into labor. I was 3.5 when admitted with my last and cervix still very high but contractions every 2.5 mins next morning i was 4.5 cervix dropped they then broke my water and i had her in 5 hrs after that 15 min pushing with all 3 boogers.

I had my first at 32 weeks and second at 34 weeks.

i was 80% effaced and 2 cm at 38w my water broke at 39w 3d i wasnt progressing as fast as they would like so i was induced

Oh wow so your like me with the preterm labor. I was admitted at the hospital with my first at 33 wks they kept me 4 days and gave me shots for her lungs im happy i made it to 36 with her.she was extremly healthy. My other child my son i never got the shots even though they knew i was thinning and dialated at 2.5 by 34 wks! He had to spend a day in the nicu. It is amazing how all babies are so different though.

My 32 weeker spent 27 days in the NICU, my 34 weeker spent 15 days. I would've killed to make it to 36 weeks >_<

Yes,36 wks here is considered full term that is why they never stopped my labor but at least your further a long this time and for the first time you can take your baby home when you go:-) my 4th is due in may my hopes is to get to 38 wks or at least 37.5

I was checked at 35+5 and was three cm. Shocked the crap out of me because I hadnt felt any contractions.

I felt the first contraction at 11:45 pm when I was 36+1. They were painless but 2 minutes apart so we decided we should go in.

Got to the hospital and checked at about 12:45-1 am. I was 8 cm.

Dilated quickly to 10 but had to wait for midwife to push. Tate was partway out and still in the sack when she arrived.

Water burst everywhere with first push. Tate was born afyer 3 pushes at 1:31 am. I was 36+2. He was 6 lbs 1 oz. Total labor was only 1 hr 46 minutes!!

I just clicked suddenly because I never got checked.
My labour started around 2am & had him at 2:45pm after pushing for 3 hours he made his entrance into the world at 38 weeks (8lbs 3 oz)

It's uncommon for it to happen as truly the very first sign of labour (PROM - premature rupture of the membranes....premature meaning before the onset of contractions). Many women consider waters breaking as the first sign (when in fact it really wasn't) because they didn't register what they were feeling as contractions, either because it felt alot like the cramping or BH that they had felt in the past or because they were in denial.

It couldnt have gone better! With my daughter I was induced when I reached 5 cm. They broke my water at 2:10 pm to start the induction. Bo was delivered at 2:46 pm!!!
