bad habit help

posted 16th Jan
i keep biting and ripping at my nails so bad it hurts, there is nothing left to be taken off, sometimes less than that. but i swear when i am nervous or biding time (all the time) i cant help but try to break more off.
it has never been this bad, not sure what has changed to make me do it more but they have not recovered in over a week.

i would do the nail polish to keep from biting but i dont just bite, i use another nail to find any little notch or crack and tear it off from there. (sorry)

do fake nails work? i mean just something to let my real nails grow back for like a week without me breaking them. or would that damage them more?

any other ideas?

I would suggest gel, they are amazing and last a lot longer then acrylics

get acrylic at a salon, any ones you do at home won't be hard enough. I do the same think, I dont bite mine I pick and peel at them.

dont salons take the top layer off your nail? isnt that more damaging?

If you don't have any nail bed they won't stay on. Maybe will your at home keep gloves on? Sorry I can't think of anything else and eekk it sounds so painful.

the way they did the gel nails is they just buffed my nails, acrylics are more damaging because of what they use and do in order to put them on and keep them on. The gel nails are just layers of gel thats it, they are stronger, thicker and last longer
