By correcting you, they were pointing out that you have no room to make fun of someone's spelling/grammar, because you make mistakes too.

Spell check wont even matter anyways. If they are real words used in the wrong context (i.e. they're, there, their, etc). It wont correct it anyways. And half of the time, my phone corrects my stuff to something stupid that makes no sense. lol. My guess is that the girl was on her phone, but who knows. Still shouldnt be laughed at.
