re: New York's New Gun laws. Yay or Nay

Oh, I used to like guns. I shot my first gun when I was 12, and I thought it was awesome.
Then I grew up and saw person after person after person die from guns when it had absolutely nothing to do with self-defense, and I became disgusted with gun culture. That's all.

I will never think putting stricter consequences on crimes that involve dangerous and deadly weapons is a bad idea.

And yes, I can agree that if a criminal wants a gun, they will get one regardless, why not make their road a little harder.

I'm for a gun reform, but not like this. We own several guns, assault rifles included. We also own a ton of ammunition, like a ton. Why? Because we like to shot, hunt, and if something ever happens in our country we are prepared. Putting more restrictions on already responsible gun owners is only going to make them even more resonsible. Maybe we should focus on illegibly obtained weapons through gang and boarder violence.

This bill will do nothing for illegal guns, nothing.

I think the bill is great.

Sorry but I don't think every civilian idiot needs an assault rifle.

This. We also have several guns , assault rifles included. I don't believe law abiding citizens should be punished for the choices criminals make. The only people this law is going to matter to are people who already follow the law. A criminal is not going to register his gun/limit his ammo.

Well that's bizarre logic.

Making murder against the law doesn't stop criminals from doing it, but it gives us a means to punish them.

It actually won't. They'll go straight to the Mexican border to get them.

While, I agree the bill is NOT perfect, by any means. I believe it's a step in the right direction, and doesn't deserve the public outcry it's received.

No where in the bill does it say you CANNOT OWN 1 million rounds of ammunition, it states, you can't have a magazine that HOLDS more the 10 rounds.

All assault weapons that are registered within the next year, are grandfathered in, they aren't asking you to give them up.

And I firmly believe that you SHOULD have to reapply and go through the gun safety courses, take the test, and have a background check every 5 years. Smurf, you have to reapply for your license every what? 4 years? Why shouldn't you have to reapply for for your gun permit?
