if it wasn't for the NICU nurses, I truly think I would have lost my mind. I lost it when I first saw her, she was so tiny, and she had all these wires and all these machines. I collapsed into a chair crying hysterically, and a nurse walked up to me, didn't say a word to me, held out her hand, and I put my hand in hers and she stood me up, and just hugged me and I just cried. It was something I really needed, and I never forgot it, and I never will. So many memories of my angel baby came back to me, I think thats why I took it so hard, they were so similar in size, but my angel baby was born sleeping

All of Marcus's nicu nurses were lovely too. He was the only baby in there that got called on a few times   at one point his bed looked like a construction site. They read to him, sang to him and cuddled him when we weren't there (we had to travel there every day from our house by bus and it was a 30 min trip). They made a little scrap book for him and a couple nurses wrote him little letters in it.

I hope to have a relationship like that when my DD is a teen. I didn't tell my mom smurf when I was growing up, because of the "parent" (I use that VERY loosely in relation to her) she was. I still don't tell her anything now.

I witness a twin birth the other day at the hospital... it was completely vaginal and both twins were head down and placentas were delivered last. She only pushed 3 times with the second 1 and even they were 6 minutes apart! It takes at least a few minutes for the other baby to come down the birth canal!!
