being induced 10am tomorrow 40 weeks

hey ladies, tomorrow I am being induced, requested by my doctor since I am GBS positive. This baby is not coming on her own, I tried sex lots of it, I tried castor oil because I was severely constipated, nothing. I am only a finger tip dilated and what my doctor describes my cervix as "fort Knox"... Because I am allergic to the main antibiotic they use penicillin, my Dr had the bacteria tested to see which antibiotic my GBS is reactive too. we found an antibiotic but it requires me to have 2 doses, 4 hours each.  

My dr says if I go into labor myself and labor progresses quickly, and I don't get the full doses, the baby can get very sick.

I am terrified because I don't know what to expect,   but at the same time feel safe doing this so my baby girl is okay!!!

lol ya I just read it. and the comments, people don't understand that's it' s an infectious bacteria and with out the correct amounts of antibiotics the baby can get very sick.

Have you looked at the odds of something happening? They aren't very high. And unless you have warning signs through your labour, your baby is very unlikely to get sick.

And there is always the chance that the baby will be infected after the birth, by someone who hasn't washed their hands well.

2 Doses, 4 hours apart is the standard treatment for everyone.

My first child, I had one only one dose (I don't know what type of antibiotic). She was fine. My second child, I didn't have any because he came too quickly. He was completely fine. With both, my water broke just before or as I was pushing. I didn't have a temperature.

I'm happy your kids are healthy. even if the odds are slim it's still a chance to try and prevent her from getting sick, I' 'll do it

I also have been wondering why a lot of OBs seem to like to use "scare tactics" on women. mine said I would deliver in the next two days because I was 3cm dilated. nothing happened then next appointment when I'm 4cm she wants to hurry and induce me. I just don't get it...

Sorry nswering 2 weeks late. my induction failed, the cord was wrapped around foot causing a bungee effect so with every contraction I had, she would move down, but go back up   so after 34 hours of labor, I was sectioned on January 18th 1:17am delivering my 8lb 3oz 20 inch long baby girl!
