Allergic reaction?

So my 7 yr old woke up this morning with a red, itchy, blotchy above the skin rash. Its started to spread to her face. Currently waiting for SO to get home from work so i can take her to the doctors. Iv never had to deal with allergic reactions before, so not sure what the rash from one looks like.
Wondering if any of you mommas out there think this looks like an allergy thing, or something else?

Oh yeah, it looks like an allergic reaction. Like hives. I wonder what it's from? Try give hersomebenadryl.

No, nothing new at all. Same old boring food, no medication and i havnt changed laundry powder. As i said in my OP i have never had to deal with anything allergy related before. So do i just leave it, and it will go away? Or is there something i can put on it? Im sick of seeing her scratch at it like crazy....watching her itch, makes me itch lol. Im assuming the rash wouldnt be contagious as i have a 2yr old and 2 week old at home also.

a virus could cause it too. I use to get rashes all the time as a kid, and sometimes the doctor would say it was just a virus, and it will go away.. Other times an allergic reaction. I would give her benedryl and corizone cream if you have it. And take her to the doctor tomorrow.
