Would you go in to the er, or just deal with it?

posted 15th Jan
So for the last 4 days straight, I have had this constant pain. It's been getting worse and worse and worse with each day  . I am almost 33 weeks or well I will be on Friday. I have had contractions since I was 18 weeks. Now they are progressively getting worse, to the point I have found myself crying or being so aggravated because I am in so much pain. It's partially in my back, and a bunch in my stomach or my lower abdomen. It feels like my vagina is going to fall off at points because there is so much pressure. Last night I almost caved and went because I was having contractions closer then usual and a lot more painful. I also keep having this weird pain to like a gas pain but I don't actually have gas, or it's a pain where I feel like I have to go to the bathroom #2 but I don't. It's getting really bad, and is hurting so bad I can barely stand it. I don't want to just go and get turned around to be told to go home :/. I tried laying down last night to make it go away but it wasn't going away even after I drank a big huge glass of cold water and laid on my left side. Would you just deal with this or would you go in? I haven't lost my mucus plug or anything, or had any bleeding, just this constant pressure and pain down there. Thanks for the advice in advance!

Oh yes and at my last apt 2 weeks ago, my ob checked to see if I had dilated because of all the contractions I had been having. He wasn't going to check me until I explained how close they had been. He said everything seemed ok, and my cervix was closed to. That is why I am so afraid to just go in since it's such a drive for me.

If it was me I would go in. I know it sucks ggoing in and bbeing sent right bback home. I've been there a time or two. But if they're that bad it would be better to get checked out. Even if its nothing too serious its always bbetter to bbe safe than sorry and at the very least they should be able to tell you what's wrong and how to go about fixing it.

my ob has always told me that f you have any more than 4 contractions that dont go away with rest or water in one hour and you arent full term to call or go in asap. and that happened to me at 29 weeks and i went in and they didnt seem aggravated or anything and i actually needed shots to have them stopped. always better to be safe than sorry. btw we are due on the same day and both having boys!! <3

That is what he had told me to do as well. I had gone so many times in my 2nd trimester that I just think they might think I am being a baby or something lol. I don't know if they can give me anything at all for the pain like a shot or something if I go in and it turns out to just be false labor contractions or what. But I am having a whole lot of trouble trying to deal with it. Do you know if they can give you anything for the contraction pain? And   I feel like it's forever away until our boys get here but not toooo much longer

yes they can give you a shot of Nubane. it helps out with these kinds of contractions. i am just a few days behind you and that is what they give me the other night when I went in for contractions. That is the safest thing that they can give you at this point in time. After they give you the shot they will monitor you for a bit.

I am going to take a warm bath and see if it makes anything ease up for me, and if not I am going to make a trip to the ER. I am hoping they ease up, I hate being in pain  . I just want them to go away so he can bake all the way as long as he can until he's ready.

i got iv fluids and 2 shots of tibuterol (i think....) but it was a smooth muscle relaxer to make them stop and they sent me home with a couple ambien to help me sleep. i was having contractions every 2-5 minutes for 3 hours before i finally went in and they told me i shouldve came in after the first hour of it. mine werent too painful in the front, just my tummy would get very tight but my back was KILLING me with every one. im looking like ill be having the wonderful back labor when showtime actually comes..   but im SOO excited to meet him but so nervous at the same time. im glad i found someone on here with due dates so close (exactly!!) haha

I went in finally after a warm bathe didn't take care of it. They found out that my contractions were being caused by dehydration! So thankfully I know how to make it help. Well, they said that is one of the causes of it. I am hoping more fluids will help it stop! And I know what you mean! I was hoping I would find someone who had the same due date as me too!
