Nap time

posted 15th Jan
How can I make nap time go more like bed time?! I am going crazy.
When DD was a baby we didn't mind, holding and rocking and letting her fall asleep. We realized how crazy we were, lol, and how hectic things we going to be after number 2. We started sleep trainer just after she turned 1 and after the first week it hasn't been an issue, she goes right to bed. For whatever reasons nap time is such a hard fought battle. She will not go to sleep on her own, but if I hold her she's out within minutes.

How old?

At a certain point, unless he got really nasty(mean/grumpy) I would let him decide when he wanted to nap and he would just go to sleep on his own. He stopped napping unless sick by 2.

She's 15 months and needs a nap.

I know exactly how you feel. Nap time is such a process with us too. She's down to one nap a day and it ranges from 20 minutes to 2 hours. Usually if I lay with her it's in the 2 hour range. When she's really fighting nap time I put her in the jogging stroller and push her around the house until she passes out lol. (In the house because its cold out)

I usually just hold her for a few minutes, she passes out, and I lay her down. She'll nap for 2-3 hours. But with this one about to pop out, I need to free up some time, lol

Oh yeah, 15months, needs a nap. We would do quiet time and lay together at that age. They need time to unwind before naptime. So, I advise getting a naptime routine, just as you have a bedtime routine in place.

We do have a routine. I refuse to lay with her.
