Curbing snacking

What do you do to curb the urge to snack? I have tried chewing gum, keeping a full glass of water or unsweetened tea (I normall hate tea but I found a mango and a pineapple kind, mixed 2 of each in a big jug and I actually like it), and trying to distract myself with an activity.

I use healthy snacks.
Carrot sticks, broccoli, crasins, smoothies, yogurt.

I just keep healthy snacks around. That way I don't feel guilty for it lol.

I read somewhere that when you feel like snacking just start doing some kind of exercise. Like jumping jacks, push ups or something. Just to get your mind off eating.
