DD stopped 'talking'?
posted 15th Jan
DD is 10 months old and has been saying mama, dada, ki-ki (kitty) since like 5-6 months but lately I've noticed she won't say anything but babbling anymore. She follows commands really well, like 'give dada kisses' and she goes to DH and gives him kiss, simple stuff like that. Is it normal? She's starting to walk (a step here and there and then standing more on her own) so I wasn't sure if that had anything to do with it.

DS stopped talking around 13 months. He stopped being vocal all together, though. He's in speech therapy now because he doesn't say any words and is almost 21 months old. He has just now started making noise again and should start saying stuff soon. I don't know if it happens a lot or not, though. He's not autistic or anything, just doesn't want to talk. If you're concerned ask her pedi.

My SIL said my nephew, who is 15 months, stopped talking for a while too. But he recently had surgery to have tubes put in his ears, and he's been talking a lot more again since then. It could be nothing! Just a phase. But maybe your LO is having issues with their ears?

Not sure about her ears, she acts fine. If she's still like this at her 1 yr check up ill talk to her pedi about it.
