breast to bottle question.

DD has been breastfed up to this point (almost 7.5 months old) but we are doing more formula in a bottle now and I'm just wondering how many ounces she she should be drinking.


She usually drinks 1oz of formula every couples of hours. Once in awhile she will drink 2ozs but that's maximum.

Supplementing will destroy your supply mama. Unless you are trying to switch over?

Yes I know, but I have no choice. Just went back to work full time and I don't get anything when I pump.

Have you tried taking funagreek and blessed thistle to increase your pumping output? You can also take mothers milk tea with those herbal supplements.
There is also donor milk. That is what my friends is doing while she is in class full time. She uses donor milk while in class and then breastfeeds at home because her son has a lot of allergies and can't take formula at all.

I found this out the hard way when I decided to supplement at night and when my MIL took him for one night   I could breastfeed him and pump a 4ounce bottle after like it was nothing. I could pump 2-4 ounces just from one breast before supplementing. Now he still wants 2ounces of formula after breastfeeding

It will also increase your supply when he feeds directly from the breast to. Its good stuff. Works like a charm.
