am I feeding her right?

posted 15th Jan
My DD is almost 13 months old and she doesn't eat much.
I mean she eats frequently, but not large amounts.

For breakfast she had one scrambled egg, half a banana, and a cup of juice.

For lunch she had a piece of grilled chicken with Cesar dressing, a piece of whole wheat toast, and a cup of milk.

And for dinner she's having pasta with steamed veggies.

She snacks in between like; puffs, yogurt, grapes, crackers, ect.

Am I feeding her enough? She's just so small and I worry a bit.

Thats plenty. You have to keep in mind her stomach is the size of a walnut at best.

Sounds great to me.

Sometimes my dd hardly eats anything. Other days she eats heaps.

When they are little they should eat smaller amounts more often

I never even though about this.
Maybe that's why she eats a little bit but is hungry an hour later, lol.

Toddlers will eat when they are hungry. Besides they don't really need a lot of food for their body size.

I let DS eat what he wants and when. I do try to make him eat regular meals as well but he is free to snack as he is hungry. Yesterday he at 1 cup of cereal, a spoonful of beans, 4oz of cheese, 1/2 ravioli, 2 pieces of salad and a few pieces of candy throughout the day. So far today he has had about 1/2 cup of cereal but it is getting to be lunchtime so he may eat more.

Liquid wise I offer milk or water and he usually has about 6 cups or so a day.

I try to feed her healthy foods but she does love French fries and ice cream. Lol
My SO says she doesn't eat a lot because I feed her nasty food but he was raised on fast food and I don't want DD to only eat chicken nuggets and Pizza

That is exactly my DH as well. Junk food in moderation is ok but not 3 meals a day. DS will choose fruit over junk food 90% of the time though when I give him the choice so I know I am doing something right with him

I was scared to give DD pb
She snatched a reesse cup out of My hand when she was like 10 months old and crammed it in her mouth before I could even react. Haha
I still haven't given her any since that but on Christmas MIL was feeding her peanut butter balls when I was upstairs

well, if she survived, she's fine. lol I don't like to give it unless it's in something because its so easy to choke on.. its sticky. if you give them a sandwich, it'll be bread and pb all up on the roof of their mouth.. ugh.. I just can't do it. I think my oldest was 2 before I started giving him sandwiches.. now he lives on them lol
