Wedding Disaster

My BFF in the entire world FINALLY got married yesterday after 7 years. Her and her husband are two of the greatest people I know. They are "team-baby-daddy" because they loved my son so much in place of his absent father. When my son passed away, they were there for me like no words can discribe. We've been through EVERYTHING together. I wanted this to be so perfect for her. It was at a beach 3 hours away. About 50 people said they were going, about 20 showed up. Her sister-in-law cussed out her and her mother at her bridal shower so she lost her maid-of-honor. I had stepped down as MOH because I didn't want her to have to "choose". I don't NEED the title to know how important we are to eachother. THEN her other bride's maid bailed. TTHHEEENNN at the reception the other bride's maid said she ate bad cheese and left early. No one had brought a hotel key so she prety much expected the bride to leave her reception to get it for her. THEENNN her hubby wasn't being as wonderful and caring as she had hoped, so she started crying in front of the entire party. The reception she paid for required a minumum of 50 people and she paid a great deal of money. It was so empty she was embarassed and the hosting owners kept making comments about "is anyone else coming?" ass smurfs. Everyone kept trying to control teh reception and tell her how to do it whcih again turned her into tears. To top it off, they had spent a great deal of money on their Jamacian honey moon. She lost her passport the day before. SO, she had drive to a city 4 hours away to get her birthcirtificate and pay $750 (she's broke) on her credit card the day after her wedding....
I'm not done yet.... We went to a London Pub after the reception because she is a HUGE London fan. So the Best Man was DD..... he LIED and said he could drive a stick. We were only about 1 mile away from the motel and he STILL managed to blow the clutch costing them ANOTHER $750 and no way to get to the city to get her passport. She couldn't cancle because they would keep $2500 as a penalty so she paid $300 to move the take of times and reservations instead.... The morning of her wedding, her parent's car broke down. Then the morning AFTER the wedding the best man's car wouldn't start and I discovered my sister had taken my car keys with her back home....three hours away. She spent her entire evening crying her eyes out. I love her so much I feel so terrible. This is her second marriage and she wanted it to be perfect.

Oh my god that's so sad! I hope things get better for her soon!

I'm so sorry this happened to her :/
My wedding was unexpectedly awesome, I think it's because my expectations were super low as far as how well everything would turn out. That evey little thing just made it so much better.
Again I'm sorry your BFF had such an awful day.

She's the most laid back person ever so it really sucked.

 

Um... The lady that did our cake got the blue and black ribbons backwards. That's really the worst that happened. I don't even know her and I feel bad for her

Mine isn't that horrible but is pretty awful. My 60 year old MIL showed up braless in a WHITE Marilyn Monroe dress. Highlight of the evening is when her boob made an appearance out on the dance floor.

That's so sad. My wedding.day woes included:

My cake was ugly and gross.
I gained a ton of weight and busted.the zipper of my dress.
My DH spent the ENTIRE NIGHT in the bar.

That sucks, but hopefully it's all stuff they can laugh about years from now that made the whole day (or days) more memorable?

umm...
i spelled brisket wrong on my menu board...
and my dj played the same 10 songs over and over again :|
my husband was drunk at the alter and forgot her vows at the hotel.. so his vows were "god i really love you. a lot. i love you a lot. and i mean it. i love you forever."
all the groomsmen up and left without saying bye (and they lived 18 hours away.. lol and we never even got to say bye to them)
and it rained on my outdoors wedding.. not super bad though and we had a tent, thank goodness

but it didnt seem all that bad....
but her day just sounds horrid  

My drunk MIL stole the microphone from the DJ and spent 5 minutes talking about how much of a jerk my DH can be, and when that happens I should remind him how little his dick used to be. She then presented me with the plastic ring they used to circumcise him with, on a necklace she insisted I wear.


DH was so mad at her!
