My wedding was slightly disastrous. My then 15 month old got sick with the stomach flu the day before the wedding. I managed to keep her ftom puking on anything at the expensize venue, but I had spent the night before covered in it. I just knew that I was getting sick. I made it through the whole day and almost through the vows when I just needed to go throw up. I kicked off my heels and ran down the aisle just before finishing the vows. My husband thought I was running out on him, but I had to get to the bathroom asap. The rest of the night was ok, although I didn't get to eat any of the super expensive and delicious food. Almost every one who made it ended up getting sick s few days later, so I felt horrible for spreading it.

My mil is a very difficult woman and when the in laws arrived, they had not dressed for the formal wedding that it was, so they felt out of place. She griped and moaned and picked fights almost the whole day because she wasn't properly dressed. I had spoken to her several times months in advance, telling her it was a formal wedding and offering to help her shop if she wanted feedback. To be honest, she wasn't nearly as under dressed as some on the groom's side (seriously, who wears stained, ripped nasty sweats to a wedding!?)
I mean the other things were not as serious, but half the people who rsvp'd showed up (was supposed to be 76 people and ended up being 30 something.) It really irked me since the food alone was $105 per person and the tables were all half empty. The florist didn't provide us with the orchids we requested and paid for, the centerpieces were green/white carnations and roses instead of the more expensive purple orchids. Since we had paid thousands for the ugly flowers he provided, I at least was going to take them home and donate them to some nursing homes, but before we were done with the dance, the florist came and took all of the flowers back. Since it was Friday wedding, we think he might have re-used them for a different client.
Also, my parents divorced when I was very young and they still do not get along. The next day as we were all packing up to go home, they got into an argument that led to my mom getting into

Her car and trying to navigate the narrow curving driveway of the historic mansion in her car and swiping her car along the historic stone walls. She then stopped the car, got out and threw up on the ground. It was a memorable end to the wedding festivities and thankfully, although the car was all scratched up, the house was ok since there is no way we could have afforded the damages to a place like that.

Yeah, we all laugh about it. My mom is still pissed off about the florist, but everything else is ok. The photographer even got a pic of my husband and the pastor staring down at my shoes after I left the altar running.
All in all it was a great wedding, though. Every one had a blast laughing about me getting sick, and the food was great (so I am told), the venue was fantastic, the cake was gorgeous and tasty and we had a blast with the dj at the dance. I evrn felt well enough to dance a little after resting for a while. We had way more positives than negatives, but you still wish the negatives weren't there. So sorry your friend had so much trouble eith her wedding.
