Mirena

Has anyone had Mirena put in? If so what was it like for you, did you like it and so on? I just got it put in and had cramps all day, is that normal? Im just curious about what happend for everyone else.

I had mine put in, cramped for a few hours and then was fine.

I liked it for the first year and then had some complications. Once I had it removed, I got pregnant and had a miscarriage..

I'm not a fan.

I've had Mirena since April 2012 and I love it. Everyone's opinion will be different because some people love it some hate it. Everyone's uterus is different and so is the uterus tilt so it depends on how well the IUD sits in place. Anywho, it took about 3 months for mine to settle completely and the cramps to die down as well as the small amount of bleeding (period regulating). This is completely normal and my OB explained that this would occur and to just check the strings monthly to make sure the IUD is still in place and if I didn't feel the strings to call and make sure it hadn't fallen out. I still have it almost a year a later and I do not regret it. It's going to be based off YOUR own experience so take others' opinions, including mine, as a guideline and not a dead on decision maker.

i've had mine since the beginning of july 2012. i actually had to have it put in twice. my first one started slipping out. they tried to reposition it but it didn't work. they put in a whole new one and i've had no problems with it.

I appreciate the input! I was just curious as to how good of luck others had with it. IUD's kinda make me nervous but we shall see how it goes!
