re: She isn't old enough is she?

no she needs one where the seatbelt can go across her chest. They have ones that are just like seats but they're properly boosted and stuff. My son is 2.5,3 in april and he's still in his my ride 65!

It is 4 AND 40 pounds, by most booster seat's label and most state laws. A 5 point harness is the safest until age 6. My oldest was one until she was 8.

DS is almost 2 and is still rear facing. He just maxed out his infant seat limits not very long ago and we put him RF in his convertible and he will stay that way until he's 35 pounds which is the limit for RF on his seat. He's only 24 pounds now, so he'll be that way for a while. I don't know why people want to push their kids into less safe seats so early

Thanks guys, that's what I thought.   It seems that most of my friends really don't know carseat safety.
My oldest is almost 3 (in April) and she is still in her myride65 but she is tiny so I didn't know if it was just for the weight or not...

Because it is viewed as a "right of passage" thing. I used to think it was as well. My oldest was put forward facing at a year, and not even 16 pounds. Why? Because my pediatrician said I could and I thought it was a "big girl" thing to do. Then I learned about the importance of car seats and why they are so damn important. My 5 yr old was rear facing until he was 45 pounds, a month before he turned 4. My oldest was then in a harness in the Nautilus until about 4 months after she turned 8, and we only moved her out of it because my 5 yr old needed the Nautilus and my youngest needed the Radian. She went into a highback booster.

A friend of mine just put her one year old FF in the same convertible seat we have DS RF in. I wanted to say something because aside from FF so early his straps were so loose they looked like he could climb out of the seat, but you can FF at a year legally and it's not my kid so I just kept my mouth shut.

I'd just comment on the picture, "Oh, wow, she's four now?! She looks so tiny!"
Then once corrected, "Oh. Those seats have an age limit - they can't be in them until they're four, so I just assumed."

I can't do that, we're really close. She knows I know how old her children are and this way I get the message out to all my friends that have their children in to big of seats.
