My mother makes less than we do as well. She is living off of social security and gets food stamps and medicaid for my siblings.

They will take all that into consideration, especially if she is already receiving state assistance, they will use the address.. which will pop up her information. That's the problem I ran into when I first moved out. The person before me, had assistance and never turned in a change of address. Even though, my lease showed it was just my son and I living here.

Both my parents incomes were not included when I applied for Medicaid so it probably depends on the state. Go ahead and apply for it.

I'm sure it varies state by state because I had no issues.

when I lived with my parents their income was counted for everything. Including financial aid. Actually, every adult in the house who worked, their income was included. In four of the 5 states I've lived in it's been that way

I went ahead and applied. DH and I used to get foodstamps and they didn't take my moms income into account so maybe they won't this time. It would be nice if they approve us though seeing as my LO has been to the hospital and doctor multiple times for strep and severe vomiting and bronchitis. And most recently we thought his finger was broken and it was huge and swollen and dark red, almost purple, and the places around here refuse to give out any "medical advise" over the phone so we brought him in and the doc looked at it and said it was fine because babies fingers are mostly cartilage. I wish the guy would have at least checked it but he decided because he was bending it it was fine. It is nice and purple today but the swelling has gone down.
