How to diet?

I've been doing the 30 Day Shred daily, and running/walking on the treadmill at least 5 days a week. I've also been keeping my calorie intake under 1400.

I'm trying to lose at least 20lbs by April.

Any other tips? Is keeping my calories under 1400 enough, or should I be eating (or not eating) specifics things?

How long have you been doing this? What kind of foods are you eating? More of WHAT you're eating than how much..

Eat lots of broccoli(no dip) its high in vitamins and it will fill you up.

High protein, low carbs! You can also go check out the blood type diet. It gives you things you should or shouldn't eat for your blood type. Not saying its 100% but it has some truth to it.
Sucks though cause I love bananas but shouldn't eat them if I wanna lose weight. I cut out bananas and started eating oranges and lost 5.5lbs just by doing that.

I don't like calorie restricting. I like eating enough of the right things. More vegetables than anything, fresh fruit, protein, a few carbs, and minimal extra junk. Eat until your satisfied and drink water.

2 weeks.

I'm limiting carbs, eating lots of fruits and veggies (fruit in AM, veggies in PM), but I admit that I don't think I'm getting enough protein.

Yeah.. I think that diet is a joke. I'm AB negative, and it says to avoid beef, chicken and pork but to enjoy dairy. I'm lactose intolerant.

I'm horrible at telling myself to stop if something tastes good. So counting the calories really helps me. It's easier to tell myself that XYZ isn't in my calorie budget, than it is for me to say "Eh, I'll eat XYZ until I'm full".

That sucks but doesn't mean it's a joke lol. Like I said I don't agree 100% with it but it makes some good points. Our systems do prices different foods differently.

But besides that I cut out carbs and starches (I have pcos and startches don't help) and sugar and lost 50lbs in 3.5 months.

Undestandable. Just make sure you're getting enough. If down the road you find yourself on a plateau, up your calorie count. I started out (before I got pregnant) on a 1200 calorie diet. I found it hard to match that eating healthy foods, so I added peanut butter to my snacks. I hit a plateau. After being at the same weight for a couple of weeks, I added a protein smoothie in the morning to up my calories to about 1500 and I started losing weight again.

I'm doing 1350 a day calories until Asher is completely weaned. Trying to be high protein lower sugar and salt. Watching calories really helps me. I've lost 5 lbs in a week and a half.

We are already gluten free so I forget about paleo. We did it before it was big lol

I do. My oldest is gluten intolerant (really severely) so it wasn't a choice at first. Now I love it. My thyroid is terrible I have Hashimotos which is an autoimmune disorder and since going off gluten and eating more whole foods my levels are improving. Meds weren't helping at all before.
