Twiddling nursing babies.

posted 14th Jan
Twiddling nursing babies. Jaxin has begun the twiddling, pinching, biting, kicking and anything else he can do while nursing. SO is convinced he is trying to wean himself but he still nurses but likes to 'play' while doing it. Drives me crazy, makes me yelp when he squeezes too hard and when I get TOO frustrated...I put him down and tell him that he has to not hurt mommy. He seems to get it most of the time and other times he is just too stubborn. I have tried a nursing necklace so he has something to focus on while nursing and it is just TOO much of a distraction. Any other ideas? Maybe a scarf? Toys? I am up to try anything at this point as I have scratches across my boobs from mr.grabby-pinchy-twiddle fingers going to town.

My 10 month old does this, maybe try mittens? My LO hates mittins so I just have to put up with scratched boobs and bruises on my arm from where she pinches me, until she weans.

Both my boys were/are like this. My baby is 6 months and started it about 3 months ago. My oldest would get entertained with a blanket but with the baby I haven't found much that works yet either. Just something to deal with to give them the best food ever

He gets PISSED at mittens when we are out in the snow/cold, so that is a no-go just for nursing.

Tried the necklace, it is too much of a distraction. I guess I can try just a few beads on a string.
