Fussiness after vaccines?

posted 14th Jan
DD had her first round of shots FOUR days ago and is still uncharacteristically fussy. She is also taking short naps (around 30 mins) and is eating less. What gives??

Unfortunately you just never know what to expect from vaccines. Most kids are fine within a day but many take longer to bounce back. My son never had so much as a fever after receiving shots... and then my daughter almost died.

My son never reacted badly until his 12 month shots. That one was like hell. But it started about a week after and he was hot, fussy, wouldn't sleep alone. It was horrible because he wanted to sleep with us but the temperature would get worse if he did.

If you don't want to answer that's fine, I'm just being nosy. But what shot did your daughter get that almost killed her? DD had a severe reaction to her second HIB/PC shot combination. The first round at 2 months gave her a rash but her second dosage of it gave her the same rash, hives, a really high fever and she had breathing issues.
A friend of mines daughter also had a reaction to the HIB shot at her first shot appointment, so I was just wondering.

dd was awful after her first shots. i felt so bad. she cried for hours, wouldnt eat... for almost 4 days it was like that. i gave her tylenol to help and it did. the worst part is when she moved her leg that she got the shot in she would just lose it.

Sounds a lot like my girl. The first evening was BY FAR the worst. A few hours after her shots she woke up SCREAMING like I had never heard her cry. It was horrible. I flew into a panic thinking something was terribly terribly wrong and thankfully my mother was there to keep my head on straight. Her legs were swollen and so painful that if she even moved her toes at all she would lose it. My heart broke into a million pieces. Finally when we put her in a warm bath things got better and she was ok that night. Was exhausted the next day and did nothing but sleep. But now on days three and four we have this fussiness issue :-/
