VERY pissed at OB,

Throughout my pregnancy I had terrible swelling, I was very ill and it got worse towards month 7. I was assured by my OB nothing was wrong and he looked no further. I got REALLY sick before going into labor. I thought I had the flu. I ended up going into L&D to make sure my baby was okay and the first thing my OB did was break my water bc I was going to be induced 2 days later anyways.

I can honestly say pushing and the pain was the worst in my life. I was throwing up everywhere, and passing out. I ended up having to go for an emergency C-Section because my baby was extremely swollen.

My blood pressure and heart rate had been through the roof and turns out I had preeclampsia the entire time. I should have not even been pushing no wonder I was in that pain and never made any progress. So my little baby is a miracle and we're both lucky to be alive. I was in and out of the emergency for a week after giving birth. With mad protein leaking from my kidneys, yeehaw.

My OB has NEVER ever had any issues. And I am NOT happy. I see him for the first time on Thursday. I'm going to give it to him bad.

Has anyone else had an experience like this?

Wow. That's usually one of the first things drs check for if there are ANY symptoms. Did they ever check your Bp?

 
I would sue him

It's funny because they did. And he never said anything so I figured I was fine. My mom kept saying she thought I had it but we figured OB knows best..!!!

That's what my mother and I were saying. He came into the hospital and said nothing. Trying to act like nothing happened.

I had pre-e with DD and as soon as my BP started getting high they admitted me to L&D for testing and watched me like a hawk. That smurf is dangerous.

He should have just given you a protein test, its not that hard. If I were you I would think about finding a new ob

OmG!!! Thats terrible! Glad you and baby are doing okay. I would be extremely pissed too.

Yikes. I would call around to find a new doctor to see for my aftercare honestly. The guy sounds incompetent and I would definitely file complains with his business and on any website you can find that allows reviews for doctors.

Smurfed up! I had it mildly and my doc was on it the first appt my Bp was elevated. Sounds like laziness.

I would be livid with that OB. Im glad you and your baby are fine but he put you 2 in some danger by doing nothing and saying nothing.

Girl I'd be suing my OB for that. That ain't NOTHING to play with. YOU knew something was wrong and he said "nothing's wrong." I've never experienced this, when I started swelling with DS, first thing they did was check for that! Then checked again after I had him when my blood pressure sky rocketed...

I would never go to that guy again and file a complaint with the hospital about him.

Yeah, kind of. We're consulting with an attorney in a couple of weeks.

But once they realized it was pre e they just sent me for an emergency csection rift away. Didn't bother inducing

That is scary! I would switch doctors. Especially if you had been complaining for awhile
