Don't get one. They're not safe.

The baby can roll over into it and suffocate. Its not something I would take a chance with personally.

I have bumpers on my daughter's crib and have since day one. I had them with my son too. And yes, I bought them on purpose because I had a cradle first. Those don't have bedding sets. So I had to go find sheets and bumpers. If your kid is big enough to scoot over and put their face in a bumper, they're big enough to scoot/turn their head away from the bumper.

And if you're super worried about it, they have breathable bumpers.

But I'd rather my kids not get their hands/feet caught in the bars.

If it didn't come with the set inwouldnt have gotten it. But it did so I attached it to the bottom of the wall in one corner of her room so there was a little padded play area that matched the rest of her room. And she didn't play near it until she was crawling so i didn't worry about it.

I put a bumper on DS's crib, but he didn't sleep in his crib until he was a year old.

i did buy one separate but its the breathable one and i just bought it a few weeks ago when i noticed my daughter has an obsession with putting her feet through the bars.

I would buy a breathable bumper . My sons crib set came with a bumper we use it as a teether rail cover now . My two oldest never had an issue with getting there arms or legs stuck in the slats but my son did so we used a friends breathable bumper and it worked great.

I have bumpers on DSs crib and have since day one. If the set didn't come with them I would still get one. My son moves a lot in his sleep and I rather he not get his arm/leg caught in the bars.

I didn't put them in when she was a newborn because I thought they were unsafe due to suffocation. But once started rolling around (6 months) I put them on because she would get her arms and legs stuck and bump her head and she would wake up a million times a night screaming cus she hurt herself so I put them on and she sleeps all night. She would also through her doodie out the crib on purpose so I'd get up and give it to her and now she can't

We've always had bumpers on the girls' cribs (well, Autumn is in a toddler bed now  ). Whenever we didn't, like when we were doing laundry and they needed a nap, they'd roll and get their legs stuck in the bars and wake up screaming bloody murder. If the baby is old enough to roll their face into the bumper, they're old enough to roll it back out. Same with sleeping on the tummy and all that.

I don't have bumpers although I do want them because my son who is three months JUST started sleeping in his crib last night and i went in to check on him because he was crying and he had scooted up and he head was touching the bars..i'm scared he could scoot up and hit his soft spot:/ also i have a monitor that goes under the mattress and if they quit breathing, alarms go off. it makes me feel better.

they came with my first sons set and we did use them. never had a problem and they were very secure/tight to the sides and not bulky at all. This time around I decided to make the baby bedding myself and decided bumpers were not necessary.

I have a breathable bumper and don't like it. It bunches up but it keeps his limbs inside the crib. I wouldn't get a bumper pad personally after seeing my sons face smooshed (sp) up to the side.
