He said his left arm was feeling a little numb. And the part I already posted about how both sides of his face are numb and the new side swollen too.

I will. This is so frustrating!

Yikes id be freaking. I hope they figure it out this time. that doesnt sound right. They should have ran some kind of tests the first time. Some times doctors annoy the crap out of me! Keep us posted  

Two years ago in April I experienced paralysis on the left side of my face and no sensation............Bells Palsy. I have recovered from it but I still have some lasting effects.

I just read up on your comments, doesn't sound like he has Bells. Did they say if they still think it is a virus?

the paralysis is VERY mild and . Its mostly just numb. And there's swelling. And its on both sides of his face and moving down his left arm.

Its definitely not bell's palsy.

They're considering Renauld's (sp?) and FINALLY running some blood tests and giving him a calcium channel blocker to try to make the nerves fire off properly. Although it can take 4-6 weeks for the meds to do anything.

That's insane- do they still think its caused by the infection? How strange.

No, now they're thinking the lung infection is separate. He's had symptoms of Renauld's for YEARS. He's sought treatment, but no one did much about it besides prescribe the calcium channel blockers that did NOTHING for him.

Just saw your update. I really hope they find out what it is soon. How scary...

Well I am glad they are running tests. Hope he recovers quick.

They think its tied to his Renaud's disease, which was diagnosed 4 years ago.

But I've never heard of facial numbness with Renaud's except when COLD and this started in the middle of the night---when it was very warm under our down comforter with his face buried.

So it makes NO sense. But we'll see.
