No. And they said "it goes away on its own" (infection and numbness), so they aren't treating him at all. Said it'd last 10-20 days or so.

WTF!?!

I know you said he can't walk out because he could get in trouble, but can he go get a 2nd opinion? Even if its like a civilian dr and you have to pay out of pocket or whatever? (I don't know how all that works sorry)

He could go to ER---but he believes the docs, so he won't.

Seriously?? I often wonder how he is your husband with his trust for medical Drs! That just doesn't sound right.

I don't think it's serious as the movement part is coming back a little, but it definitely needed looking at!

It sounds like what my mother had not to long ago, which is bell's palsy, her whole right side she couldn't move or make a facial expression with. She didn't go to the doctor, but I did research and that is what she said she knew it was. After a few weeks it slowly went away on it's own. I believe a hospital visit is worthy for this. Here is a link explaining more about it. Hope it goes away soon.
Bell's palsy was my first thought when I read it.

I think it was probably a pinched nerve. A virus wouldn't start clearing up in a few hours after suddenly getting bad enough to cause paralysis...

Damn idiot docs

So, just before bed (2-3hrs ago) he noticed the numbing on his upper lip and inside of his mouth. It now is on BOTH SIDES.

There's numbness, mild tingling on both sides. The newer side also has swelling and is limp. The original side was limp yesterday morning, but movement slowlu returned.

I'm officially freaked.
