Carter will be here soon! - UPDATE

Carter will be here soon! (http://members.baby-gaga.com/member48813) is being induced today. She is at 36 weeks. She's been having lots of problems with high blood pressure, which is why she's being induced. Please keep both her and baby Carter in your thoughts and prayers.

Edited to Add: Carter will have to spend time in NICU once he arrives...so please provide some extra prayers for him.

Last night she was given cervadil to soften her cervix.

11am: Started on pitocin, says contractions aren't that bad at the moment.

1:25am: 7cm, 100% effaced

4:37am: Carter has been welcomed into the world!!! He's currently in NICU to be monitored, but he's strong! Amanda did get the epi, but it didn't work.

Easy labor dust. They are in my prayers.

Why does he have to stay in the NICU?

She also has GD, meaning that Carter's lungs aren't going to be as developed as a typical baby of 36 week gestation. So he's going to have to be in the NICU for a little bit to make sure he's ok...and possibly stay longer depending on how developed his organs are.

Awww...good luck to both of them! I guess it will be common news that one of us July mommies will behaving our little ones!

1:40pm - Water broke, 2cm

She was given the steroid shots a couple weeks ago, so I'm hoping those helped his lungs develop.

My prayers are with them. I hope all goes well!

I hope everything goes well.. My sister just went thru same situation a couple weeks ago and was induced at 37 wks.. her baby thankfully was fine and never had to go to NICU. I pray the same happens for Carter!

Carter has arrived!!! He's 5 pounds 14 ounces. He's currently in NICU to be monitored, but he is strong!

Amanda did get the Epi, but it didn't work. She is such a trooper!!
