Painkillers and Pregnancy

Anybody here had to take them during pregnancy?
And yes i'm talking about the Opioid kind.

Duration? Trimester? Any negative outcome?

I'm usually on vicodin from about 30 weeks on.

At about that time, my babies grow astronomical amounts, and my hips and knees just can't bear it. I try to use tyelnol and rest about as much as I can, but sometimes I need one.

I kept it too 1 day or a half. Towards the end I took up to 1 a day. It helped get through the breakthrough pain.

All this said, my kids all turned out fine, no problems.

But I have 11-12 lbs kids past 40 weeks. So for all of my pregnancies except my first it was unavoidable. With my first I was able to rest and sleep until he came. With my last 2 I had to function.

Short term for teeth issues but stress from pain can be worse on a baby than the meds in some cases.

1st trimester for about a week I had a wisdom tooth removed my son is happy and healthy!!!

If ask my dr first. I've taken Tylenol a few times for fever. I'm sure you'll be okay,when I was in the hospital super early in this pregnancy (9wks) they have me morpheine about 5xs 😳 so I'm sure whatever you're thinking of taking will be okay.

question: if u don't mind answering what was your dosage and did you have to wean before you gave birth? if not did the baby have withdrawl issues? what did your dr say about that?

the tablet was 5/500, I don't get "addicted" to the vicodin, I am able to just take it as needed without any side effects, and stop it suddenly. I may possibly have a headache/migraine after 2 days, but that's it.

My babies had no problems what so ever. I didn't need to taper it down at all.

I had to take percocets a few times during my last pregnancy for my hips (I need surgery) and my son has a really rare AVM in his brain. I really don't think it's related at all though because they don't know what causes it and I only was prescribed a few.
