printer suggestions

I am on my FOURTH printer in a year. Yes, fourth. It's smurfing agravating. I cannot seem to find a printer that isn't going to go to smurf. The first was a $150 printer. And within 4 months the inside coil thingy, whatever it's called, the thing that moves back and forth with the ink, tangled and snapped while it was printing. The second one just.......stopped. The third one, just a few weeks after I got it, it was printing and made a funny noise then a loud pop. Some plastic thing had popped off. Then the one I JUST got the day after thanksgiving has stopped printing. Well, it prints. Just everything is misaligned and really blurry and after trying EVERYTHING to print without it being crazy off, HP support came to the conclusion that it is need of servicing because there is an internal error, and they are saying my date of purchase was July 1 so it isn't covered under the 60 day warranty. So.......tomorrow I am taking it back to Best Buy since it's still covered under the return policy time frame. But, I don't want to get another printer that's smurf. I need a small printer to print smurf. I don't need a scanner and all the frills, but I need it wireless. So.......suggestions? One that preferably will last at least a year. That's my goal, just a year lol. Also, what's the difference between laser and inkjet? Sorry if that is a stupid question lol

Have you not tried to contact any of the manufacturers?
I got mine from Wal-Mart is a cannon and was like $65.00 with a scanner. My first one wouldn't read when i'd want to print something so I called cannons customer service and told them what was up and sent me a brand new one in less than 4 days, and I just shipped them back the old one for free. Haven't had issues since. and it's wifi which I LOVE

Yeah. The first 3 were Epsons. And the first went out too late. The second, third ones were also Epsons. Those were returned within 30 days. This one is an HP. HP is saying my purchase date was July 1st lol. I emailed a copy of my receipt, and waiting for their "decision" but it's still under the return policy for Best Buy, until the 24th. So, I am just going to return it tomorrow without having to wait around for HP to "decide" what they will do. Your Canon is good though? Walmart.com has one for $55 that looks decent.

I love it, I did have the issue of it reading error and that's when I called they had me try a few things and they didn't work so they sent me a new one bc it was under a year warranty with them, expired with Wal-Mart since their crap is only 19 days! But I didn't even have proof of purchase and they still replaced it.
That's one thing about printers, they are throw away items. After like 2 years you need a new one anyway! This is very close to what I have
